The driver on the move however was young Sam Hunt, working up from a 4th after losing a spot at the start, to pick off the three in front in quick succession. By lap 4 he was in the lead, and while there was some patience behind him, it wasn’t enough to hold on to his coat tails, and he began to pull away. Yauney and Franca would attempt to stay in touch running 2-3, but when it was obvious that wasn’t going to do the trick, the battle ensued in the final couple of laps. Franca moved into second, while Jose da Silva had a brilliant race to climb from deep in the top ten to finish third. But it was all about Sam Hunt, scoring his first career win, and in the process, leap frogged from 5th to 2nd in the championship.
